What is a Smart Repair?
Smart Repair is Small to Medium Area Repair Techniques and is a process that originated in the United States in 1990. The idea is to use specialist tools and materials to repair as small an area as possible. In using the latest materials and tools we are able to effectively repair parts that would otherwise have been replaced which means a substantial saving to you and the environment.
What areas do you cover?
We are based in Manchester with mobile technicians also in Liverpool, Chester, Crewe, Birmingham and Leeds. We cover most areas within a 30 mile radius of each of these areas. Have a look at our Areas Covered page or call us to check if we cover your area.
What repairs can you carry out?
Bumper scuffs, scratches, dents, stone chips, minor accident damage, paintless dent removal, alloy wheel repair, alloy wheel refurbishment, interior repairs and most other types of cosmetic damage. We do not repair major damage and because of this, our prices are lower than a normal car body repair shop as we have lower overheads. See the smart repair services page for more information.
What do you require to carry out the work?
We will need access to a power socket and off street parking (Driveway, car park or private road) with enough room to park your vehicle and a medium sized van.
Can you match the paint colour properly? Do you use the manufacturer's paint?
Yes, using a state of the art water based computerised paint mixing system which is environmentally friendly. The paint match comes from your cars own paint code and will be an exact match. We never use stock paint, each batch is specially mixed for each repair to ensure an accurate finish. Metallic paint and pearl paint is no problem and can be matched with the MobileSmartRepair system. We will leave a small pot of FREE touch up paint on request.
Will the repair have a professional finish and will it last? Will the repair be 'as good as new'?
The modern smart repair materials used are very durable and long lasting with the benefit of curing fast to make mobile repairs the best option for minor scratch repair, bumper scuffs, rust, small dents & stone chips. The repairs are invisible and we apply clear coats of lacquer after the repair to restore a shiny and new look to your car however it is not possible to guarantee a flawless repair. Each repair is carried out on an individual basis and the finish will differ depending on many factors including the skill of the technician and the paint used. What we do say is that our repairs will be of the highest quality and are backed by our THREE year guarantee. We stand behind our work and will always rectify any issues that arise (although they very rarely do).
How much will my repair cost?
Obviously the price depends on the work done. However, our prices are ALWAYS lower than a body shops and often as much as 60% cheaper. As a rough guide, the average cost of a job is around £125 – £150 although this is usually multiple repairs. A single scuff or area of damage can cost as little as £50. Alloy wheels can be refurbished from £35 a wheel depending on the amount of damage. Give us a call with a description of the damage and we can give you a much better idea of the price with a no obligation quote.
Do you do insurance work?
Yes. Call us for assistance at any stage of your insurance claim, preferably before you have collected any quotes and we will guide you through the process. You do not need to use the repairers that your insurers recommend and it is often a better repair when we deal it.
Can I drive the car straight away? How should I look after my repair?
The vehicle will be ready to drive as soon as we are finished. You can drive and wash it as normal immediately subject to the full written aftercare instructions which are provided with your invoice.
Can you work in all weather?
Generally we can work in all but the harshest conditions. We have covered mobile work areas and heating equipment.
